Bank and card reconciliations are still open, and month-end is already late.
At a U.S. company with no full-time controller, the close falls behind because no one person owns it and the supporting records are scattered. The bank, the cards and the books do not agree, and the differences are not written down.
Who this is for
The owner, CEO, COO or the person responsible for finance, at a U.S. company of about 20 to 150 people that does not have a full-time CFO or controller. It is meant for companies that keep the books in QuickBooks Online or Xero. If a controller is already on staff, or the books are kept somewhere else, this is the wrong page.
This is for the operating company closing its own books. It is not for an accounting, bookkeeping or tax firm.
Sound familiar?
- Bank and card reconciliations pile up after the month has ended.
- The person who would close the books is also running the company.
- The statement, the card activity and the support for a transaction live in different places.
- A difference is visible, and the document that would explain it is not.
- The outside accountant is waiting on a list of what is still open.
- Giving someone a login to the bank or the accounting file is not how you want to start.
What it costs
The month stays open because the unresolved bank and card differences have no written list, and the likely missing documents are not named. Decisions get made on books that are not finished. This is a comparison of your own records. It is not money to collect from a customer.
What you do today
Whoever can piece the records together does, when they can. The close waits on that. This review does not take the close over, and it is not bookkeeping software.
What the free review examines
A redacted reconciliation or close-exceptions export for one period, covering the bank and card differences against the books. If you do not have that export, email the redacted source files for the same period instead: a bank export, a card export and the accounting export. We compare those files. We never ask for a login to the bank, the card account, QuickBooks, Xero or any other system.
What you receive
We reply with the findings: unresolved bank and card differences, including transactions that look unmatched, duplicated or missing, and the document gap that appears to sit behind a difference, with the lines in your files each finding uses. You, or your accountant, decide the accounting entries and make them.
What we do not do
We do not post entries, finish the close or log into your accounts. We do not match customer payments to invoices. That review is on the cash application page. We do not review supplier rebates or retailer deductions. We are not a debt collector and we are not your legal representative. We do not give legal advice. We do not promise that the month will close, or that every difference has one explanation. The first look is free.
What to send
Email the redacted reconciliation export, or the redacted bank, card and accounting exports for one period, to founder@blinkfin.com. We reply with the findings. You do not have to schedule a call first. If this is not your situation, you do not need to reply.

How your data is handled. You email us exports you pull yourself, including redacted files. We never ask for logins to your accounts, systems, portals or bank. AI processes those files only for the job you asked us to do, and we keep them only for that job. An NDA is available on request. When you ask, we delete your files and confirm it in writing. Privacy
